This is one incredible poker hand
Aces versus Kings versus Queens. I’ve been there, done that. The moment I’m speaking about, I had the Queens and was all-in against two opponents with KK and AA. Off course the aces didn’t win that time either :p I was the one with queens who called an all-in of my two opponents, and flopped a set.
To be honest, I don’t like getting the aces. They lose me a lot of money in the long run

Biggest pot in history of televised poker
Saturday, April 25th, 2009
Let make things clear. High Stakes Poker is definitely a quality tv show, with great commentators, players and off course great (and) big pots too. Just look at this gigantic pot. It’s just so insane
At this moment it must be the largest pot ever played on television. Barry Greenstein picks up two aces and decides to play them superaggressively, the right play given the circumstances. But there’s Tom Dwan who has KQ suited and is not willing to let this go pre-flop.
The rest you can see yourself :p
More of this please!!! As long it’s not my money they’re playing with ^^

Poker Chip Tricks: the shuffle
Saturday, April 25th, 2009
Poker isn’t just about playing some cards against some people. If you play poker (doesn’t matter which game) on a regular base, you’ll realise the funny thing about having a certain image at the table. This can be accomplished in different ways. Some just dress like they were having a carnaval party, others invest some time in learning some cool chip tricks. That’s what I want to talk about in this and following posts.
At the moment of speaking I am u huge nobody, concerning my chip trick skills. But I’m planning to do some efforts to master some. So maybe you can follow me (as you are reading this I suppose you have some interest in the things I’m writing :p) in my progress and practice along.
At a first glance, it seems skd1337 made several nice and understandable tutorials. I will try to follow these, unless I find better ones. But they seem very ok
Today I’ll start with the shuffle, a simple basic trick which allows you to quickly merge two piles of chip towers. It may sound rubbish, but it definitely looks good when correctly executed. Cheers, I’m off for some practicing

Nice hand in pot limit omaha
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009
To be clear, this is not one of my own played hands. I am not such a huge fan of pot limit games, and not one of Omaha poker either. But some minutes ago I saw a good friend of me catching a real nice pot in PLO, especially for such low stakes. Don’t think you can’t blame the other two players for being in this huge pot. Two guys have flopped the nut straight, one of them was drawing to a royal flush too. Ok, the other did a quite loose call preflop, I admit. But the weakest hand on the flop got the jackpot, hehehe. Nice catch, sir !!!
But, off the record! Could someone please explain me why so many people play Pot Limit Poker (Omaha) games. Why is it so much fun, because at the moment I just don’t get it. I think it’s just one huge drawing festival. Or is it commonly played by n00bs who don’t care about their money? :p An explanation is welcome
Cheers

AQ vs. 97os
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
I was watching some pokervids on YouTube and came across this fine hand. I like the style of Marcus preflop: raising with a 97 offsuit. That would be definitely my play too
It’s a shame he doesn’t get paid off for being such a genius, I think he really deserved it!!! hehe

We had some server issues but …

now we’re back
I’ll start with another quite nice hand for me I played on Fat Bet Poker a couple a days ago. I warn you: Fat Bet Poker is known for his amount of complete donks hitting the tables
The site is ugly, hand history features are rubbish, but yeah you can’t have all
One of the most common beginner mistakes when playing Hold’em is to not think about the action but just call and don’t get rid of your (not super but quite good) hands. Such attitude got me paid of
I’ll do my best reconstruct the table (as I said, the hand histories at Fat Bet are rubbish). I got deals some nice suited connectors

and my opponent picked up

in early position so he raised to 1$ preflop. I was in late position so obviously I called hoping for a monster flop.
The flop showed us

which was a fantastic flop for me
The guy with AQos kept (over)betting, for an amount of 3$. I decided to just flatcall, hoping for some next bets on turn and river.
Turn:
Ok, two pair ! Not super, but probably enough to have this guy beat. I put him on a high pocket pair … The guy betted 5$ and again I just called. So we both went to the river which gave me probably the nuts. The river was another 8 so I made a full boat. He betted again with only toppair, 9$ and I came over the top pushin all-in. Within one single all his money went in, shoving it into my direction
Strange thing, isn’t it? The player just had to let his hand go when he could, but he didn’t and that way he donated me alot of money (for a 25NL table, potsize was 65EUR). So what do we remind? Don’t just push the buttons, but take the time to overthink the hand and action to make a smart decision. If not, you’ll get surprised a lot

flopped a straight
Monday, December 8th, 2008
Somebody raises a significant amount preflop, you decide to call with your suited connectors and flop a straight. That’s an excellent scenario. I experienced this a few minutes ago. I so needed it because I’m not running good at Full Tilt Poker. The first days were going very well with some nice winnings, but last week I had some steaming days and also some bad beats and I just lost all my profit. So now I’m working on the way back and tighten up a bit
When will I learn to be steam-resistant ?

KK cracked by nut flush on the river
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008
I’m doing quite fine this evening. I’m even hitting rivers, normally not one of my specialities
To illustrate this, see the attached video. I pick up

on the big blind, and see a raise to 1$ and a call. I decided just to call and not to raise, despite of my bad position. Afterwards maybe the good decision: the guy with KK would probably have reraised me all-in preflop. Not sure if I would have folded that, but Q6 would probably have. Well, so I just called.
The flop didn’t hit me, but I picked up a nice nut flush draw (+ I certainly got some additional outs because of my 2 overcards). The guy in first position decided to play it quick: he immediately pushed all-in with his overpair. The next one flat called (what was he actually thinking? Top pair with pretty good kicker will be enough? Wouldn’t think so, pal)
Ok, my turn! Why should I ever fold this? I got lots of outs plus the pot odds are just too good to let this slip. So I called and also just called the remaining bets of the player with Q6. Maybe it was a better move to push that guy all-in straight away, but ok.
The turn came a blank, but the river offered me a big smile
So I took down a nice pot.
