Just like doctors use their strict terminology, investment bankers generally use fiscal terms, poker players have their characteristic terminology which has been incessantly growing with the increasing population of poker players across the world.

This article would help you to acquaint and fine tune yourself to the current lingo used by poker players. Most of the poker players are aware of phrases like flop, steamed, all in and so on.

Third Street means the third card dealt on the poker table I all the stud games. It is the first card which is dealt to the players in the position of face up.

Sixth Street clearly means the sixth card on the poker table which is dealt to all the poker players.

Showdown mans that after all the betting rounds are complete the players who are active in the game need to compare their hands in order to know the winner.

Call refers to a situation when the player has made a bet which is the same as the last raise or the bet.

Big pair is two premium cards like pocket aces and tens which may help you win pots.

Players’ especially the budding ones should be aware of the poker terminology so that they can play the game easily without confusion. When the dealer announces words like ante flops, all-in, check and so on they should not be blank. It helps you feel a part of the group if you can speak in poker terminology or else you are considered an alien on the poker table.

If you’re looking for something to spice up your home games, I can really recommend to play similar bounty hands. For example you could make an agreement with the other players that pots won with these hands will cost 4BB from every player at the table. It doesn’t have to be necessarily the 7-2 hand, it’s all up to you. At our game we even agreed multiple bounty hands on one evening, f.e. the 72 en T3 hands. Good luck!

I decided to redeposit some earnings from Fat Bet Poker on my old Pokerstars account, because I wanted to play some 9-handed sit and goes again. It’s been a while but seems that I still have it I played two sit and goes (one of $1.2 + one of $3.4) and I succeeded in winning them both. In the heads-up phase of the last one I got a true MONSTERFLOP for my trademark hand. Pokerstars is getting to know the 97 as well. I checked the board until the river, hoping for my opponent to try a steal which he did. Obviously I reraised and the guy folded.

Few hands later I knocked the last player out with the following hand.

Glad I’m already winning sit and goes this soon, because the shift from cash games to tournaments isn’t an easy one I encountered. It’s an oh so different game But I must not forget to mention that I had some luck on the right moments (I hit some lucky rivers but hey who doesn’t? ) Maybe I’ll be playing some more tournaments on Pokerstars in the future. Thinking about depositing more money on Pokerstars trying to profit from their 300$ reload bonus
