Welcome to the dazzling and wonderful world of poker terminology. Just like doctors use their strict terminology, investment bankers generally use fiscal terms, poker players have their characteristic terminology which has been incessantly growing with the increasing population of poker players across the world.

This article would help you to acquaint and fine tune yourself to the current lingo used by poker players. Most of the poker players are aware of phrases like flop, steamed, all in and so on.

Play Online Poker Third Street means the third card dealt on the poker table I all the stud games. It is the first card which is dealt to the players in the position of face up.

Sixth Street clearly means the sixth card on the poker table which is dealt to all the poker players.

Showdown mans that after all the betting rounds are complete the players who are active in the game need to compare their hands in order to know the winner.

Pocket is a common term used by players and it means to the position of cards which are in a face down manner.

Muck is term which is commonly used on the poker table. It refers to folding or discarding the hand.

Fourth Street means the fourth card which is dealt to players on the poker table.

Dealer button means that it throws light to the position of the dealer on the table.

Coffeehousing refers to a situation on the poker table when they are all playing their hand by avidly trying to deceive the opponents. This is considered as a foul poker manner. While playing poker implementing the right etiquette gives you the confidence, and helps you to adequately concentrate on the game as well.

Poker Chip Tricks: the shuffle

poker chipsPoker isn’t just about playing some cards against some people. If you play poker (doesn’t matter which game) on a regular base, you’ll realise the funny thing about having a certain image at the table. This can be accomplished in different ways. Some just dress like they were having a carnaval party, others invest some time in learning some cool chip tricks. That’s what I want to talk about in this and following posts. 

At the moment of speaking I am u huge nobody, concerning my chip trick skills. But I’m planning to do some efforts to master some. So maybe you can follow me (as you are reading this I suppose you have some interest in the things I’m writing :p) in my progress and practice along.

At a first glance, it seems skd1337 made several nice and understandable tutorials. I will try to follow these, unless I find better ones. But they seem very ok :)

Today I’ll start with the shuffle, a simple basic trick which allows you to quickly merge two piles of chip towers. It may sound rubbish, but it definitely looks good when correctly executed. Cheers, I’m off for some practicing :D
